Ma Yansong and Yosuke Hayano have been awarded the 2006 Young Architects award during New York's annual Young Architects Forum for their submitted Fish Tank.

The Award, an annual competition and series of lectures and exhibitions is organized by the Architectural League and its Young Architects Committee. The award recognizes works of high quality and encourages the exchange of ideas among young architects.

The theme for this year's forum was INSTABILITY, which is intended to "agitate the normative grounds underlying current economic, political, ethical and climatic paradigms" and raises questions like "in the midst of shaken institutions, weakened states of normalcy and defunct analytical models, how do young architects define their practice?"

A poster of the winning entries is distributed nationally, and a catalogue of winning work is published each year by the Architectural League and Princeton Architectural Press.
