30th May-1st June
2013 National Architecture Conference Melbourne
31st May, 11:20 a.m. ( LIGT)
In the context of unprecedented economic growth and urban expansion in contemporary China, architects face issues related to materials, scale and skill. Yosuke Hayano has prepared to share the stories behind four MAD urban projects. The projects trace MAD's conceptual development and proposed urban space, created by eliminating the boundaries between exterior and interior and by bridging nature and architecture. Located in Canada and China, the projects focused on research and regeneration of the built environment.
The National Architecture Conference is organized by the Australian Institute of Architects. The Conference's emphasis is put on challenging existing notions of ‘materiality' and aims to reveal new insights into contemporary material experiments and applications.
