On April 10th and 12th, 2014, just before the opening of MAD’s LA office, Ma Yansong was invited by the Virginia Society AIA and Cal Poly’s LA Metro program at A+D Museum, Los Angeles, to speak about the natural design and architectural concept of Shanshui City.

By introducing MAD’s recent projects and practical achievements in Shanshui City, Ma shared with audience the possibility of a future urban landscape that combines the convenience of the modern city with the Chinese cultural values of nature and its individual emotional connection to the living space. Other invited guests by Virginia Society AIA included Terence Riley, previous curator of MoMa, Kai-Uwe Bergmann from BIG,etc.
