For our growing Beijing studio, we are looking for Landscape Designers of all levels of experience to join our talented teams on the integration of innovative landscape concepts in our ambitious urban and architecture projects.
You will be involved in the design, architectural, and technical aspects of projects and their graphic representation through the entire architectural design process from concept to construction.
Within dedicated teams, you will develop landscape packages that demonstrate clarity, design sensitivity, and a sound understanding of technical feasibility.
As an integral part of our international practice, you will be contributing actively to the development of MAD.
You are a globally-minded individual with an excellent academic background (Bachelor in Landscape Architecture / Landscape design or a related field of study from an internationally recognized school) and an outgoing, proactive and positive attitude.
You have a track record of at least 2 years in-depth post-qualification involvement in leading international architecture or landscape design firms, as a key contributor to the landscape design of complex large-scale mixed-use, cultural, civic or sports projects through all stages of design to construction.
You combine strong aesthetic design sensitivity with technical awareness, and are a clear communicator.
You articulate your ideas and tasks concepts precisely, comprehensibly, and in a graphically engaging way.
You demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of plants and planting design, including landform design, hardscape, and water features, as well as relevant practice and industry standards and codes.
You have sound knowledge of architectural and landscape drawing and detailing, and are proficient in the preparation of surveying landscape work, the assessment of environmental impact based on proposed design.
You thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment, enjoy contributing to your team, are flexible, and able to set priorities in order to deliver accurately and on time.
You are highly skilled in AutoCAD and Adobe CS, with a working knowledge of Rhino and Revit. English fluency is a key requirement, with business level Mandarin and other business level language skills a plus.
Requirements:
* bachelor’s degree, or higher, in architecture
* a minimum of ten years working in a leading, international architecture firm, including
demonstrated success as a senior project manager/architect on a range of architectural
project types
* experience working on large-scale civic/cultural projects, and have been involved in a
minimum of three under construction/completed projects – from schematic design
to construction design (please be specific about your role on these projects in your
portfolio)
Professional and Personal Skills:
* expertise in construction drawings and construction details
* strong understanding of building systems and materials
* demonstrate strong knowledge of codes, practice standards, and industry
expectations
* highly skilled in AutoCAD, with a working knowledge of Maya, Revit and Rhino
* Positive energy; with an ability to accelerate the communication and efficiency
between clients, collaborators, consultants, and partners
* experience successfully managing a multidisciplinary team through effective
leadership and motivation; and, has a strong capacity to develop and co-ordinate
strategies to ensure that their team reaches the goals and high-quality levels of
production required to meet project milestones
* highly organized and efficient, able to multi-task through tight deadlines in a
fast-paced environment, and is a strong team leader
